From the very first mines to the birth of the transistor, a radio-sensitive mineral to memory microchips erased by light, this series of sculptures instruments raw electrical and optical phenomena to expose and present histories surrounding the genesis of information technologies.

 

Extracted from the ground, rare earth minerals dominate our devices. These works dive into the politics of these tiny precious parts to investigate the shadow of technological exponential growth. Stones are turned into transistors after old patents to resonate in unrepeatable patterns of sound; integrated logics are preserved in sugar while memory chips are consumed slowly by light until noise.
